Our Staff

Learn about the wonderful teaching staff at UKids - East Village!  Within all classrooms there are assistants that work with the lead teachers to create a warm and positive environment that meets the needs of each child. At times we also have student teachers/interns participating in the classroom through the Department of Family and Consumer Studies. All staff members are encouraged to contribute ideas and experiences to the center. All staff, substitutes, students, and volunteers go through a state background check as required by Child Care Licensing.

Donna Abrams

Donna Abrams - Program Coordinator

Hi! My name is Donna Abrams and I am the Program Coordinator at UKids-East Village.  I have a BS Degree in Education and have worked in early childhood for over 25 years, including over 18 years with Head Start.  I am excited to be working with an awesome staff here at East Village.  To quote Fred Rogers, “Play is really the work of childhood” and I agree with him that children learn best through fun and engaging activities.

I have 6 children and 19 grandchildren with whom I love spending as much time as possible. I enjoy traveling, reading, cooking and playing with my dog. I am very proud to be part of such a great University!

Stephanie Featherstone - Office Assistant

Hello!  My name is Stephanie Featherstone and I am the Office Assistant at UKids – East Village.  I am a Utah native and was born and raised in the Salt Lake area.  I received my Associate of Arts degree in Theatre Studies from Snow College and I am currently working towards my Bachelor’s degree in the same field here at the U.

I have worked with children most of my life, starting as a neighborhood babysitter when I was eleven and getting my first “real” job at age fifteen as a summer camp counselor in the Salt Lake area.  In August of 2013 I began working here as a classroom assistant when it was still the Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC).  In addition to a classroom assistant, I was a summer camp teacher, 2 year old teacher, and the office assistant for ECEC.  In May 2017 I moved to the Center for Child Care and Family Resources as the Enrollment Specialist, and in October 2019 came back to UKids – East Village as the office assistant.  I really missed all of the kiddos!

I love reading, writing, theatre, cross stitching, having fun with friends, and spending time with my big family.
